Because they’re great at spreading chunks of hard butter on soft bread, but they suck at delivering the butter from the stick or container to the bread. The butter melts and drips or falls off the warm knife blade before it gets where it’s going.
If you think you need a heated butter knife, you’re not being smart. Instead of cutting and trying to spread a chunk of cold, hard butter, try scraping butter off one end of the stick or out of the container, and it will spread easily . BTW, if you don’t scrape the butter out of the middle of the stick, the way the twit in the video does, it works easier at the end – – Start from the middle and scrape off the top surface at the end of the stick of butter, pushing the butter against the end of the butter dish. Likely because no one has invented one. However, what’s the power source? There’s enough things that need plugging in already. I doubt anyone needs another. Batteries? Would the provide enough juice to heat up the blade? How big would the handle need to be to accommodate the batteries?
The heated butter knife would have to be as convenient and as easy to use as preheating a butter knife in hot water.
