Chris hand makes his knives from bar stock instead of flat billets like other knifesmiths. The blade and handle are one solid piece, lathed & milled to shape, then hand finished, tempered, & tested. I’ve owned several over the past 30 years, & they are among my favorites.

To my limited knowledge of Chris Reeve knives, he claims to make knives with the highest PRECISION of any knife manufacturer , to include heat treat. This is not necessarily the highest quality, just the highest claimed precision.
These tolerances naturally require greater attention and effort in all processes, and necessitates a higher price. If you think Chris Reeve knives are alone in being expensive, you should check out some other makers of fine knives. In any case, based on what I’ve read, seen on YouTube, and observed in knife listings and reviews, he has knives which, if you are looking for really high quality knives, do meet those standards in many areas, and are worth the price. I do not recommend his folders with ceramic bearings, but that issue may have been resolved, I do not know.
