I’m no doctor but I think you’ll be fine as long as you take common sense measures such as properly cleaning the tool you’re gonna use and the area around the mole with some alcohol and put some antibiotic cream and a bandaid after. I’ve done it before with 2 moles in my stomach and a couple of skin tags on my neck and have been totally fine. A lot of people are here offering advice and spreading all this fear without actually having done it themselves. First of all, it barely hurts. You can grab the mole with some tweezers and then do a quick clean cut with some small sharp scissors. I’ve used barber scissors. Be decisive and quick with your cut and you barely feel it and no pain after. I don’t know if maybe moles don’t have that many nerve endings but at least for me it hasn’t been painful. Ofcourse, the safest way of doing it is with a doctor as by doing it yourself you risk getting nervous and not doing it properly or getting infection, so I’m not telling you to go ahead and do it. I’m simply sharing that I’ve done it and how I’ve done it and I’ve been just fine. But you make your own decision and I’m not responsible if you hurt yourself or get an infection. But it hasn’t happened to me.

I did this in my youth with nail clippers, the type that have two sharp, curved, parallel edges that connect to snip off anything that comes between them. If that sounds barbaric, it properly frames my attitude towards these moles. I thought they made me ugly, and this was a path towards eliminating them that I could control.
Thirty years later, I am glad that I did this. It is a brutal act, but the moles were damaging to my self esteem, and they heeled rather nicely. I was careful to the extreme to sterilize the clippers, and yet I still lived with great fear that my action would lead them to grow back in a cancerous manner.
That never happened, and it was all good, as it happened. Some percentage of people that do this will have catastrophic consequences, I am sure, but I was lucky enough to not be among them. Perhaps it wasn’t that lucky, though, as this isn’t all that different from taking a naturally occurring wound to the same area. The biggest difference is that in these circumstances you can actually control the sterilization status of the objects that cut you.
Yeah, this is gory, and if you have thoughts of doing this then you probably have bigger psychological issues that you’ll need to explore and resolve. I certainly did, and they followed me around. That is probably the larger danger to you than doing this, if you are responsible and careful about how you go about doing it.

Probably nothing if you clean the area with iodine and disinfect the scissors or knife blade by placing it in boiling water for several minutes and then letting it cool. Putting an antibiotic ointment on it afterward and covering it with a bandaid would be smart.
But even smarter, is having your doctor remove it. This is something that he/she has done countless times. This is your first time. Lots of mistakes happen when doing something for the first time.
Even with very minor surgery, an infection could occur that’s extremely dangerous, like this:

Fuck, too late. I probably should have researched this before I cut it off…

There’s a pretty big chance you could get infected like that.
I would go to a dermatologist or a cosmetologist to have the moles removed. Most insurances cover getting rid of skin tags and cosmetologists usually don’t charge that much for getting rid of moles. There’s also groupons for it.

So many bad things, and no real good things. Just to name a few:
It will hurt (a doctor would give you a local anaesthetic first).
Without proper sterile technique, you are at higher risk of infection.
Scissors and household knives aren’t as sharp as scalpels, and you won’t be able to make neat edges to the incision, so will probably get an awful scar.
I’m guessing that if you’re thinking of doing this, you’re probably not thinking through how to close the wound. Without being sutured shut, you again raise the risk of both infection and scarring.
MOST IMPORTANTLY: If you have not had a doctor check the mole first, you run the risk that it is no ordinary mole. Skin cancer must be removed incredibly carefully to ensure no cells are left behind, and if a doctor does it they can send what they remove to a lab to make sure.
OK, so its not impossible that everything will turn out fine. In the end its your decision what you do with your life and your mole, but I’d recommend seeing a professional.

You would only get the layers within the epidermis. Most moles are into the lower layers of the dermis. There would be some remnant. It would likely regrow. It might appear differently but would likely come back. If it were malignant, it could proliferate in the lower layers of the dermis and likely would be advanced by the time it was recognized. It is also difficult to stage if you have dealt this sort of damage.
And it would likely scar. And you wouldn’t be happy with the results.

What will most likely happen is all your friends and relatives will start calling you Scarface if you survive the blood loss and subsequent infections.
As others have said, go get somebody trained in the art of cutting and stitching living flesh to take care of it.
It usually takes only one visit to a dermatologists office for mole removal. It is done under local anesthetic. If there is a chance it is a skin cancer it will get checked for malignancy.
None of that happens at home.
Please do not try using the creams because they are usually toxic and some of them are astoundingly dangerous.

Possible infection or scarring, quite likely. You’d have the best results seeing a dermatologist.
First off, he/she would use a local anesthetic so this is less painful, remove the mole under sterile conditions, and stop the bleeding. If the mole looked suspicious for skin cancer, a biopsy could be sent to the lab to find out.
