I would guess that the “Classic SD” is probably the number one in production numbers. It may not be the best seller. nor the biggest money maker, but because of its diminutive size and low cost it is often seen in gift or promotional packages. I actually have three of them.

What you may not know about is this little critter (acquired in the Wenger buy-out) or its Victorinox clone that is virtually identical, other than the tip of the file/fingernail tool. These are what is called a “premium” in the advertising/promotion business and are given away by the thousands to corporate customers and trade show attendees, usually complete with a corporate logo imprinted, engraved, or inlaid into the handle. On top of that, they’re often sold by the usual sellers of Swiss Army knives. I’m speculating a bit but I can’t see how any of their regular knives could come close to that kind of volume.
