In my opinion, particularly on the larger examples, the least useful tool is the knife blade itself! The large assortment of tools makes the whole thing too bulky and cumbersome to be very useful for actually cutting anything.

The toothpick and tweezers, followed shortly after by the eyeglass screwdriver that screws into the corkscrew. I can’t think of anyone I’ve ever met who’s bought or been given a swiss army knife and hasn’t lost *all* those at some point. Wengar knew it too before Victoronix (formerly the *other* actual swiss army knife manufacturer and now the only one) bought and made a good chunk of money selling people replacement kits for whenever they lost them.

The least useful tool is easily #14, the “multi-purpose hook”. I’ve heard it referred to before as a “package hook” for carrying (literally) brown paper packages tied up with string. Despite the fact that it bears a new name, it is still not one of my favorite things. The current recommended use is to hook the handles of plastic shopping bags into it so that they don’t “strangle” your fingers. Me, I just thread the entire, closed knife through the handles and carry it exactly the same way, except without trying to get them to hang on a fidgety little hook. You can fit more bags that way too. I would trade the package/multi-purpose hook for a file (#20) any day of the week.

Least useful depends on the individual. I primarily use a Victorinox Ranger – Pick any tool on that, I’ll find you five different uses and often more.

The whole multitool concept is actually flawed.
Say you need to hold AND cut or tighten or turn something. Guess what? You can’t.
Not to mention the inferiority of most of the tools.
I have a Leatherman Micro, all I ever use is scissors, maybe 4 times a year.
