  1. It’s a very unusual looking knife, but I’ll just take a wild guess.
    To me, it looks like a garnish knife, similar to the ones pictured below. It’s tough to see the picture, but the edges do not appear to be serrated and look like they were designed to make a zigzag shape. This suggests a back and forth motion (as is the natural motion with most knives) is not the intended purpose, but rather to be pressed down on something relatively soft like a fruit or vegetable (for decorative purposes).
    It looks like a pretty inexpensive knife, in the absence of a full tang (i.e. blade does not run the entire length of the handle).
    Just a guess, though.

  2. It’s a huge money maker for the in-the-home type of tupperware party companies that sell kitchen gadgets. Everyone at the party wants it for that $18.95 price because no one has it and look! the hostess made some wavy carrots and such and look how festive that is – a big hit for my next party!!! 🙂
    3 years later you sell it for $1 at the garage sale.
