For me? This:

For you? Hard to say without knowing what you circumstances are. Here is the suggestion I usually make.
Get a dirt cheap one, but with quality. Something like an Opinel N°7 Carbonne or a Svord Peasant Mini . Both knives are under $20, are excellent knives in their own right.
Carry it for a few weeks. Write down what you like and what you do not like. Features you are missing? Write them down.
Look for a knife that suits your needs according to what you have written down. Only positives noted? Congratulations, you found your ideal knife.
Otherwise: Go back to step 2.
Amazon Basics 14-Piece Kitchen Knife Block Set, High-Carbon
First: I cannot open a “thumb stud” knife. I carry an “assisted opening” Kershaw Burst with the straight edge. The Burst fits my hand better than any other knife I have carried. Original cost, under $20, but now used ones are at least twice the price on EBay. The Burst is no longer made but you should be happy with some of their other similar offerings. Note to Kershaw: please bring the Burst back, it is so comfortable in hand.
Second: I also carry a Gerber “Dime”. A very good miniature multi-tool. Still available in the $25.00 range. Its’ “crooked little” blade is designed apparently for opening blister packs, but it also safely cuts open those packages that say “Use No Knives”. I love this thing and use it for almost everything except for those things that really require a heavier duty knife.

That depends on several things including what blade length are you looking for? Do you need it to open 1 handed?
I’m just going to make some assumptions and say one handed opening knives that are under $75 and have a blade length of at least 2.75″.
My 2 favorites for that would be the Spyderco Delica 4. The Delica has FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon) handles which helps make the knife light. It also has good blade steel in VG-10. It weighs 2.5 ounces. This knife has around a 2.875″ blade. They run right around $65 and you can find them for $45-$55 on the used markets like BladeForums.
My other choice would be the Kershaw Skyline. It’s a nice manual flipper with G-10 scales. Kershaw lightens up the Skyline by only having one liner and using thinner G-10. The nice thing about the Skyline is you get a 3.1″ blade. It uses Sandvik 14C28N blade steel. It’s not as nice as the VG-10 but this knife is much cheaper. You can usually find this for between $35-$45 on Amazon. This knife weighs in at 2.3 ounces.
There is tons of choices but those are my 2 favorites in that price range. You can even find some that are lighter yet but you will be sacrificing quality, blade length, etc.
Hope that helps.

Like firearms fro personal carry, knives are very subjective and the opinion of one person as to the best is not necessarily what would be best for you.

If you want a small, very light, and very functional knife, one of the best designs in recent years is Spyderco’s Dragonfly 2. Here’s a link to one of my favorite reviewers:
Dragonfly 2 ZDP-189 Review
Of course, everything depends on the price you’re willing to pay. For a lot of people this might seem expensive at about $75. But it’s a fantastic value considering the ergonomics and the very high-end steel used for the blade. There are plenty of fantastic cheaper options, but none quite as nice. And there are plenty of very expensive options which probably don’t touch the DF2 when it comes to value for your dollar.
It also depends on your intended use. For example, this is a great cutter and one of the smallest and lightest blades available that also fits your hand comfortably, but it is not suitable for self-defense. Some people may prefer a longer blade as well.

I’d go for the Spyderco Dragonfly 2, the Kershaw Skyline, or the Ontario Rat II. All three come in a couple of steels, so check them out.
