A saw back is of no use in combat and of questionable utility as a survival tool.
I don’t know of any commercial knives with sawbacks that are what I would consider a Bowie knife.
It would also be important to define what you mean by “combat.”
Do you want a knife to use in the field as a tool, but might be needed as a weapon?
Do you want a Bowie for dueling against another guy with a Bowie?
Do you want something for home defense or to keep in your car for emergencies?
It is generally agreed among people in the knife community that the best fighting Bowies are made by Bill Bagwell, but they are very expensive and he has a long waiting list, so it will take years to get one. Bagwell hates sawbacks and wrote extensively against them, so it won’t fill your sawback criteria.
A more affordable option would be the Bowies from Randall, but those are still expensive (but much more affordable than Bagwell’s) and they also have a long waiting list.
Cold Steel has Bowies in various price ranges, but they still won’t have sawbacks.
You might want to eliminate your sawback requirement.
If you want a large knife, not strictly a Bowie, that is good quality and has a functional saw (still not as good as a real saw) then look at some of the knives from TOPS Knives, such as the Steel Eagle series.
Wanbasion Black Stainless Steel Knife Set, Sharp Kitchen Knife
It depends on several factors. The most important is user fit. A knife should fit like a glove or pair of shoes. Otherwise its unwieldy and less effective. It should be fairly easy to sharpen. Blades made with exotic steels, hardened to 60+ Rockwell C are going to be more difficult to sharpen than those around 55-57 Rockwell C. The sheath should be Molle compliant as well. I’m pretty sure AG Russel offers something along those lines. Check them out.

A silent infiltration of a heavily guarded compound where killing is mandatory and sound is prohibited is the only PRACTICAL use for any knife in combat. and even then as a last resort. The best ways to understand what im saying is to find something man sized get a sharp knife and attack it. Then get a rubber knife or 2 and practice different scenarios. You will find the most difficult thing a newbie will encounter is keeping from hurting your self and actually hurting someone else. Bowie knives are cool but the ones i picture are big heavy. and without training DANGEROUS TO THE USER.
