Every time I lead a spelunking trip, I carry (among many other things) an inward curved serrated folding knife with a rounded tip. Its intended purpose is to cut someone out of a harness or rope. I’ve never had to use it, and I hope I never need it. I also carried it when I rode along as a Chaplain because they work great cutting seat belts. My father and I used a hook-bill knife for cutting shingles.
