My husband put a dime size chip on the interior enamel of my le creuset French oven. Is it possible to repair it without starting over again with a new pot? This one has sentimental value.
You can check the answer of the people under the question at Quora “enamel cookware repair kit“
There are many high heat appliance paints some up to 500 degrees. Or you can call in a stove repairman or ask where you can, or who can fix it. But I do not understand if you are fixing a pot or a stove. But fora pot I imagine you inquire with the company that made it or a metal fabrication company of a possible fix?

The chip doesn’t make the pot unsafe because it is just bare cast iron. LC has a great warranty and they will often replace the pot if you are the original owner. Contact them and ask.

It’s a no. I know it’s a le Creuset and you love it and all that, but it’s glass-enamelled and therefore virtually impossible to ‘repair’ effectively. You’d have to remove all the existing enamel and then get it re-enamelled from bare metal in order to get a good result and in that case you might as well buy a new replacement.
What I’d say is that part of using an enamel item is that, over time, it simply will get chipped and damaged. Sure, you can be careful with it and keep it nice for longer, but you’ll always find that the enamel gets crazed, maybe fades a little, and accumulates the odd stain or chip if you use it. Don’t bear a grudge that it just happened to be your husband that caused the damage, it’s a fact of life and he was just unlucky enough to be using it when the damage happened.
Unless it looks really unsightly, I’d recommend that you carry on using it and accept the appearance as evidence of a pot well-loved. Chances are it will accumulate some more damage given time, and what’s the point of having a nice enamelled pot if you just stand it on the side and never actually cook with it? The little chip won’t make a scrap of difference to whether the food tastes good or not so my recommendation would be just to carry on and enjoy using it. The more chips it gets, the more memories it will bring you.

Check at a hobby store for a glass polishing pad, kind of a fine sandpaper.
I’ve used lodge black cast iron for 50 or so years with no chips.

Try contacting Le Crueset and see if they will repair or replace it.
Other web sites I found sounded pessimistic about using food safe enamel as a long term fix. (If you try it, make sure it is FOOD SAFE!)

While it could be repaired, it would cost a fair amount of money, probably several hundred dollars. Will cook fine with a chip. But it’s value for resale has dropped 90%. It’s really not worth repairing.
