My 9-year-old son is a smart, sweet, affectionate loving boy, but he likes to stab holes in walls, pillows and stuffed animals with a kitchen knife. Should I be concerned or is this just a phase?
You can check the answer of the people under the question at Quora “penguin with knife plush“
I used to pretend to stab pillows with a popsicle stick. Just talk to him about it, ask him why he does it. If it’s to kill the pillow mabye be a little worried(or a lot depends on your situation) but if it’s too see what’s inside just say don’t stab pillows.

… and none of my little angels could leave ballpoint pens alone, but had to take them apart and play with the little springs!
These were destructive and wasteful behaviors that had to be corrected, but I didn’t see them as “evil”!
So I would first try to find your son a better outlet for all that manual dexterity, maybe using tools to build things — and teach him that destroying things you’ve spent money on is wasteful and wrong.
If the behavior morphs to something else that seems sinister and negative, then I’d check it out!
