If a cast iron pan is properly seasoned it works as a nonstick for most foods. Two major tips are don’t use soap and let it heat to dry. To initially season the pan leave it in a 375° oven for about 15-20 min Pour about a cup of kosher salt and rub it with a dry towel to remove any stuck-on food particaIs then put a small amount of neutral flavored (light colored) oil on the towe, rub it in and let the pan ad.a small amount of neutral flavored (light colored) oil on the towel, rub it in and let the pan cool. When getting ready to cook in the cast iron, Allow time for the pan to heat, add a small amount of oil (if needed/ depending on what you’re cooking) allow the oil to heat and if its a meat or fish, dry it with some paper towel before putting it in the pan.oil to heat and if its a meat or fish, dry it with some paper towel before putting it in the pan.
If this sounds like too much of a hassle, buy some Teflon pans… I’ve also heard good things about the ceramic pans but have never used them myself.
