Is the karambit the most lethal knife?
I don’t think so, though it could be considered one of the most effective and messy styles of fighting knife. A Karambit will sure open up a lot of meat, but it is strictly a slashing weapon that takes advantage of “laws” that prohibit the carrying of more effective longer blades capable of deep stab wounds.

Khukuri used by a Gurka is something I would not want to face. stories abound of a single Gurka taking on and killing 4 to 20 men with a Khurkuri

no knife if inherantly “deadlyer” than others
ive been training with all forms of weapons for as long as i can remember and having used the karambit recently i can see alot of ways to end a fight with them and techniques are fun inventive and interesting the shape lets me play with my opponent in ways most knives wont let me but that does not make it any better then a hunting knife and survival knife or a steak knife

Yes and no yes if you are a good fighter because the karambit was made for fighters it was made for martial arts fighters but your average Joe who is decent at throwing a punch can be very effective with it but if your not a martial artist or a very damned good fighter then no I could could block a single punch and make the opening I need to stab you with my knife I am a collector and maker of knives and while I would carry many of my knife because most of the ones I keep are fighting knives i normally carry a smith and wesson m and p auto knife it is a bowie shaped pocket knife with a 5 or 6 inch blade I could disembowel you very quickly with it but in reality the most lethal knife is the one you are able to use effectively but the knife most would say is the most lethal is the bowie knife it is a 12 inch long knife (as originally designated) that can be used to gore a grizzly bear but when made properly is balanced to throw it has a clip point blade and while most have false edges on the last few inches it should be sharpened it was made so when you stab someone you can slice up or down to make the kill it is also normally very thick meaning it can handle very hard swings and prying such as displacing a mans rib it was made for one purpose to be able to be picked up by any man woman or child and be used as a lethal weapon with no training and it succeeded in that anyone can pick up a bowie and use it to chop slice or stab its size and thickness allow for the abuse of a hard chop into bone and its length allows for deep stab wounds and its shape allows for a stab to be easily delivered while also opening a wound channel large enough to cause a lot of bleeding and pain so for me the answer is no I prefer a bowie because I dont need to think about my approach which in the heat of a fight is best unless your experienced then the karambit is good for you since you can go in for a normal punch and just curve your hand to gouge open your enemy but do remember what I said the most lethal knife is the one you can defend and attack with reliably

No, there’s other knives more lethal than the Karambit. See my answer for more Isaiah Pablo’s answer to Are karambits actually useful for self defense?

Most lethal? Well, if poisoned and in the hands of a Silat Master, then it’s possible. The poison the Indonesians used on their Karambits would kill a French Soldier within minutes, from just a minor cut. But… we live in a modern world, so I doubt that’s the answer you are looking for. The Karambit cuts well and cuts deep, but it still only cuts. Research on knife wounds has determined that lethality depends on depth, cutting arteries, stabbing organs, etc. So, as much as I love my Karambits, no, it’s no longer the most lethal fighting knife. For lethality, I would choose a thrusting knife like the Fairbairn-Sykes, or maybe the US WWII trench knife, or similar. Now, with that being said, double edged blades can be as dangerous to the user as to the opponent when facing trained fighters. So for all around offense and defense, I would choose a modern drop point fighting knife, I am particularly fond of Ontario Knife Company and the Russian Kizlyar Supreme Knives.

Having a knife collection and the karambit being a few parts of it, would all depend on what you’re using the knife for and how you use it, based on your question I would say for injuring Purposes. Therefore I would prefer a Jagdkommando Dagger. It’s design style allows it, when penetrated to twist inside the victim inflicting more pain and loss of a significant amount of blood which in turn would be lethal even in a three year Olds hands.
But (as there always is a “but”) because Jagdkommando Dagger is illegal in some states of America and some countries in Asia and Europe most part of Asia it would most likely be a suitable weapon for your crime or your self defense.
