Rock frying pans are not made from rock.
It’s just regular Teflon pans with a pebbled pattern and good PR. I admit to falling for it.
As Teflon it shouldn’t stick badly unless you cooked under very high heat.
I have one if these pans for eggs. I still have to put a dab or butter in the bottom to keep things from sticking.

All of these granite rock, copper-gotham pans are just gimmicks. If you want a non-stick pan, go for a plain old ‘typical’ non-stick pan from a reputable brand like t-fal.

Even though these are sold as non-stick, they do benefit from seasoning first before cooking with them.
Wash and dry the pan by hand. Then coat the pan with a thin layer of oil and heat the pan up on a medium heat setting for a few minutes. Remove from heat and with a dry cloth or paper towel, wipe down. Now your ready for non-stick cooking.

Yes, the thing you did wrong was buying a fake granite rock pan instead of buying a cast iron skillet. None of the non-stick gimmick pans work at all, or for any substantial amount of time. Cast iron and carbon steel are the two best choices because even if you screw it up, it doesn’t take a lot to re-season again. – MarkKw
