I’m looking for a Kershaw knife. Thin blade, tip-down pocket clip, light, not bulky. I really like the Kershaw Leek, but it’s kind of expensive for a knife. Any recommendations?
You can check the answer of the people under the question at Quora “kershaw knife clip“
Get the kershaw leek, you won’t be disappointed. It’s exactly the knife that you described. You can get them for $35–$40 online. Considering the quality they offer outstanding value. The 1600 model is a sleek, solid steel knife that feels great in the hand. With its speed safe mechanism, it flicks open lightning fast with a satisfying solid click.

Firstly, the Leek is a tip-up carry knife. Secondly, you can get one at Walmart for around $40, they’ve come down in price since I got mine more than a decade ago for around $90, despite the current $85 pricetag they have on the Kershaw website…but I don’t consider even $85 expensive for a good knife, you usually get what you pay for.
Consider this…you’ll probably be using a good knife 10–20 years after you’ve gotten over what you paid for it…dinner at a decent Italian restaurant will cost you around $75 for you and your date, plus your 20–25% gratuity for the exemplary service your waiter/waitress provided you with, figure about $100 or so, and once you’ve eaten it you’ll see it one more time before you flush the toilet…you’re gonna have that knife for alot longer than that.
My Daddy told me a very long time ago “buy once, cry once. Spend the money for quality and you’ll be enjoying your purchase long after you’ve forgotten how much it cost.”

If you’re looking for a low-cost, stylish and functional gentleman’s-walking-around-knife, I’d recommend this. If you’re looking for something larger, Frost also makes similar models in different sizes.

Kershaw knives are great and I love the Ken Onion Rainbow Chive, which makes a great fashion accessory. However, knives are easily lost and I’d rather replace a $10 pocketknife than a $100 pocketknife.
Also, not all Kershaw knives are expensive. This is a good deal:

Well I tend to not lose knives- my only losses in recent memory were to the Trash can at the airport.
So if I’m comfortable with the kinestetics and the steel on a knife I’m going to suggest that cost on a per day used base quickly minimizes

The Leek costs between $45–90 USD.
If that’s too expensive, then you aren’t going to find too many Kershaws that are going to be in your range unfortunately. Kershaws are among the better knives in the lower price range and you are going to have to pay for that quality. You may be able to find some online that have been discontinued or are “seconds” which will be cheaper.
If you want a new knife, but don’t want to pay the higher range for a Leek, then the Ken Onion Blur and the CQC are both slightly less than it. They both come in a range of styles and they both are available online or at most major knife and sporting goods retailers.

The Kershaw Grinder is a great knife for the price. Super fast open, razor sharp, lightweight, but it was a tip down only clip. That was my only issue with it since I prefer tip up, but otherwise, it was an awesome knife. If tip down is your preference, you might like it.
