  1. I’m also a TF2 F2P and I find myself in the same situation as you. My backpack is full and can’t fit anymore weapons.
I think the answer is simpler than you think. Keep the weapons that you use the most. If you don’t play spy, don’t keep any of those weapons because you don’t use them.
But I think a more important issue needs to be addressed here. You see, most people who have payed for the game want us to join them. They envy that we are able to play the game(sometimes even better than them) without spending a penny. I want to tell you to keep doing that.
TF2 is a great game and all, but Valve truly doesn’t care that much for this game any longer. Spending money in this game will be just an investment trap.

  2. On most classes, the best weapons are the default ones. Although throughout the history of TF2, there are some weapons which are considered essential if you want to be most effect in that specific class.
Scout- The default scattergun is arguably the best primary one a scout could have. However, there are some specific situations that you would need to use bonk in case of a sentry nest.
Soldier- Rocketjumping is extremely essential for an effective soldier. You would need some gunboats for that and the arguably best melee is escape plan.
Pyro – Degreaser and flare gun
    Enginner- Rescue ranger,wrangler and gunslinger
Demoman- Iron bomber, your favorite sword and shield
Heavy- Gloves of running urgently and sanvich
    Spy -dead ringer and ambassador
Medic- Ubersaw and crusaders crossbow are arguably the best
All in all they count for about 17.
Only 17 slots for the essentials. So, you have about 30 free stuff to put in there.

  3. Here’s a solution; stop being free to play! I’m not hating on free to play players, they keep the game and it’s player base alive, however, it’s really easy to become a premium player, and you can do it for less than a dollar!
Step 1: Go to the Mann. Co. Store

Step 3: Buy a weapon; It’ll only cost you a dollar, and it gives you so much more access to the game, you can’t buy a crate, because those don’t come from the store, they come from the Steam Market
