Open the biggest blade – it should either say Officier Suisse, or Victorinox Swiss Made. There are two factories approved as manufacturers of the Swiss Army knife, one is in Switzerland and the other is in Belgium.
So if your knife, or the knife you are looking at gives a made in mark that is neither of the two countries, it is a fake. They are made in three colours, Black, Red and Blue, with the last two also being available as see through versions. There may be other colours available, but I have not seen any.
And if it claims to be a Swiss Navy knife, it is a very obvious fake!

I don’t know much about swiss army knives but I’d imagine telling the difference between the real thing and a knockoff would be in it’s construction.
