Cookware is an essential tool in our life. We use it for three meals a day, and it is closely related to our health.

1. Material

I don’t think there’s a real answer there. A lot depends on the type of cooking you do and personal preference. My kitchen is a mix. I have older revere ware that I bought almost forty years ago. I tried t-fal and it simply wasn’t durable enough in my kitchen. I have a very expensive set of pots that my wife brought over from england that I almost never use. I have a large cast iron(enameled)dutch oven that works on the stove or in the oven. I’ve tried multiple non stick pans and I’ve settled on blue diamond as being one of the most durable long term at a reasonable price. I even have a covered grill skillet that’s blue diamond that does a fantastic job of grilling fish and pork. I have a lot of glass cookware and microwave ware as I do some cooking in the microwave. I’ve found that if you cook on defrost you get foods that cook almost identical to using an oven and without heating up the house. My pantry is full of cookware of all sorts. Indoor grill, nuwave oven, pressure cookers, even an outdoor electric smoker. Starting out I would choose a cookware set that’s mid price. Make sure you get a selection of pots, pans, skillets and so on or simply buy one of each type of pan you’ll think that you will need.
