  2. In terms of oven safe, it is mostly about high temperature resistance normally up to 270 C or even higher.
Normally stainless steel pots and pans are oven safe – but if they were not specially designed or coated they may present colour change after they come out of the oven, which does not affect its performance.
Enamelled metal or ceramic made cooking wares are normally oven safe however attention shall be taken on the plastic or rubber or silicon sealing parts if present.
That’s all in my mind now. Hope helped.

  3. First of all, is there any plastic parts…on handles? What metal is it? Is it heavy? Cast iron? How much heat are you hoping to use? Even cast iron without any added handles of another material might warp in very high temperature but normal baking temperatures would be just fine. I have used a couple of skillets to make a pan pizza with a good crust. Perfection with that. However, to reclaim and abused cast iron skillet, I put it in my oven on self clean cycle. Bad do! It came out with a bit of a warp in the bottom of it. It doesn’t lay flat on my glass op stove. A lot of pots and pans might have a text on the bottom that tells that it can be used in an oven up to a certain temperature. If you don’t know, don’t do it.
It seems is that a good bottom line here is to avoid extremely high temperatures even if the pot is all metal.
