If it’s not an antique then you can’t buy them in the UK. .In order to be classified as an antique a sword cane must be at least 100 years old.

Even then you cannot carry one without “reasonable excuse” (such as you are traveling to a “show”, or are taking it to a museum for valuation or for them to display (a prior appointment is required)). If the police believe you are carrying it with the intention of using it as a weapon then you also commit a criminal offence. My advice would be: if you are attacked whilst carrying the “sword cane”, use anything other than the cane to defend yourself.

It’s an offensive weapon that was made for a violent purpose. Any police officer discovering someone carrying one in a public place will likely arrest them. This is especially true given the state of knife attacks currently happening in the UK.
