I have a lot of frozen corn, so I would say it is the perfect time to stock up. You can store perfectly fresh corn in an open container using a protective wrapping for up to 12 months in most freezer conditions.
For added protection, seal containers. If you use a sealing machine, place a piece of common tin foil over the container opening before adding the lid and securing tightly. Your freezer temperature should be set at about 0°F (-18°C). To freeze your own canned corn , you’ll need: One 12 ounce can of sweet whole kernel corn A large bowl Ice water Enough vacuum seal bags for however much frozen corn you want to create A sharp knife Vacuum sealer with a bag Sealer machine (optional) How To Freezing Canned Corn Open the can of sweet whole kernel corn and pour into your large bowl. Do not drain the corn.
Fill the bowl with ice water. Soak the corn in ice water for about 5 minutes or until you see that it’s starting to lose its yellow color and has a firmer texture (it will continue to firm up as it freezes).
