No, not if you want either fish to have any quality of life.
Both fish are from completely different continents and require different sets of environments to be healthy. The Betta is indigenous to Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam where the ghost lives in Venezuela and Amazon basin region. Bettas can be kept in 5–10 gallon tanks where ghosts need 55 gallon tanks at a minimum to have enough room to freely move around. Water conditions are also very different. Bettas also need easy access to the surface of the table to get supplementary oxygen via their labyrinth organ. This is not exceptionally easy in a tank sized properly for the ghost….not to mention making the Betta an easy target.
Black ghosts can grow to upwards of 20 inches long, while a Betta peaks out at around 2–2.5 inches. A very important set of characteristics as the black ghost is also a predator. Once it reached 6 inches or so the Betta would be more of a Scooby snack than a tank mate. The Betta can flare it’s gill covers all it wants, but as the black ghost has an underslung and vary large mouth it’s all over any way.
So to answer the question, no, you cannot keep a Betta with a Black Ghost Knife.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!
The black ghost is MUCH too aggressive to be in the same tank with the betta and the betta will NOT stand a chance and will be killed with mosh certainty….

Yes and No.
Yes because Ive seen it work. I personally keep my year old 6 inch BGK with fish as small as Tiger Barbs, Dwarf Gouramis and Kuhli Loaches. No incidents or losses so far. The only thing the BGK attacks is the Common Pleco. Dont know why though, maybe because they share the same waters in the wild and there’s some rivalry between the two giant species.
No because Black Ghost Knives are predators and there have been incidents of them eating Neon Tetras and such tankmates. My BGK has eaten live 7 inch long earthworms, ghost shrimps and can eat something as big as a Giant Apple Snail.
To be honest, its a bet. My personal suggestion would be to go for it. BGKs are reclusive predatorial bottom-dwellers so they hide most of the day and mostly coming out at night and Bettas mostly hangout at the top surface. Wish you best of luck.

Possibly. Depends on the personality and the size of the BGK. I got mine when he was small now he’s about a foot-and-a-half long and lives very happily with a bunch of tiny coydoras, mollies, tetras. He hasn’t eaten anybody yet. But who knows if he hits two feet. I’ve heard it’s a gamble. But it’s been working out for me for a long time now.

No they would not be compatible. The black ghost knife is MUCH too aggressive and would kill the betta. The betta is considered to be a semi-aggressive fish most times with fish of their own species, but the black ghost knife fish is aggressive all the time. Little is known, however it has been speculated that the male’s eyes are more towards the top of the head, while female’s eyes may be closer to the front of the head. It has also been rumoured that while courting, both the male and females white part of the tail may glow red.
