If these are just knives then you can ship them to NZ.
They have knifes in NZ.
Knives Act 1997 now prohibits the sale of combat knives and restricts the marketing of knives as offensive weapons.
I suspect that if it is these types of knives you wish to import then they won’t be allowed in NZ and this includes any with hidden blades or any that is primarily a weapon.
If you were trying to ship these type in even as parts then you will unlikely to be successful.
NZ does allow hunting knifes and knifes suitable for many other actions.

It’s all in the paperwork mate. If they are declared and accompanied by the correct paperwork there should be no problem. I suggest you contact a customs agent or logistics expert to assist you in making sure all the i’s are dotted and t’s crossed.

If the knife is prohibited or restricted customs officers aren’t so stupid they they can’t see what you are trying to do.
Every way you can think of to get around customs they have seen a thousand times already.
I had an officer reject my customer’s assertion that the six left shoes he was importing were commercial samples and of no commercial value. The officer insisted I punch holes in the soles, then he would accept no commercial value. I thought that was pretty petty, was my client going to sell the shoes to people with only a left leg?
And then the officer explained that my client could import another “sample” shipment next month. Of six right shoes.
