As far as I know you can. I carry one twice that size daily and no one has ever said a word. Best thing to do is research NC laws on the subject

Generally the answer will be “yes”. If you are a juvenile on school grounds the answer will be “no”. If it looks super scary weapon like with skulls and Klan emblems. . . even with the tiny blade an officer worth his salt will probably throw “going armed in terror of the public” at you, knowing you’ll plead down to “disorderly conduct” and get some probation time so the Law can keep an eye on ya. If it is the sort of normal utilitarian knife most adults in NC carry daily, you probably won’t have any problem unless you are carving racist slogans into the bus bench with it.

The laws on blade length in NC.sre really ambiguous, but yours seems to be be in the “okay”category. Unless I was a real scofflaw-type, I.would take it into.the sheriff’s.office, blade.closed, hand it to?him/ her and.ask if it is legal.
