No, it has the chances to break, as the heat source (gas flame) is directly in touch with the glass. Borosil glasses can go in oven as the max temperature is 400C. Moreover the heat source is also indirect and is from 3 sides. So they work best in oven baking.
Gas flames have the temperature from 1200- 1500 C , so the glass can break if heat is only from one side and is direct.

Yes, you can use borosilicate glass directly over a fire. It’s not uncommon to brew teas directly in borosilicate glass in Asia. In fact, look at this picture of a company selling one.
I’ve even see people fry in it! We use them in chemistry as well in our experiments directly over fires. Just cause fire is 1000 degrees celsius doesn’t mean the pot is. Even your normal metal pots would melt at that temperature. There is so much heat loss to the surrounding area. Borosilicate glass has a temperature SHOCK range of 360 degrees. So you can go from the freezer straight to the oven without it breaking. Just remember Pyrex is no longer borosilicate glass after the American company bought it in the early 90’s. It is now tempered glass, which can’t be used directly over a fire. As long as you’re sure it’s borosilicate glass, you’re good to go. The only thing I’m unsure of is the electric side, the coil and the inductions can make a difference cause it has a minor vibration which could effect the chemistry of the boron inside the glass. So I wouldn’t use it on a coil electric range.
