No, not anymore than the other nonstick cookware. It’s made of hardened anodized aluminum and has a titanium strengthened coating. They are great to cook with, have a wonderful nonstick surface that is resistant to scratching and chipping even with metal utensils. The big drawback with any of these cookware items is that they have an upper limit to the heat applied where above 450 to 500 degrees Fahrenheit, you will start to get degradation which could possibly result in the breakdown of the coating or metallic substrate. Highly unlikely, but it could happen. So just watch the heat. I mean, you want the food cooked properly, so it should be monitored. If you leave a fry pan, for instance, on a cooking eye that is red hot and you forget the pan by walking out to get the mail and then start a conversation with a friend, you might come back to find a destroyed pan that shouldn’t be used again. There is a warrantee that comes with the product, but the metal the pan is made from and the coating that we all love, has probably been heated to a point that particles of either could get into food being prepped. So- great product; quite safe; not idiot proof, but can be compromised by inattentive humans.
